yeea mama

two full weeks with no blogging?! oy vey.  i'm not exactly back, but...here i am for a moment! haha. to give you a quick overview of my life, here's a few notes:
  • searching for my prom dress! was gonna get a BCBG or Betsey Johnson one but mannn, they are just outta my budget. i do have my eye on this blue and green full length dress i found at a bridal/prom store in bellevue, wa and it's on sale (but i need alterations, but anyway). i was so excited that a long dress looked good on me cuz i'm sooper short and i never imaged a long dress to work. i tried this on at nordstrom and i fell in love, but again, the $$$ was not so nice. :[ i'll let you know the verdict!
  • also looking for a prom date -__-
  • also having intense boy issues. high school boys are stupid. but i still like them. what's up with that. i would tell you more, but apparently my parents read this. hi mom and dad.
  • almost done with my online art course! here was my latest/last assignment (incorporate writing/words with some sort of image. i went for a watercolor image of a face of an 'everyday girl'--that was the goal at least. if you have q's about it, dont hesitate to ask!)

  • waiting on colleges! so far, i'm getting more rejections than acceptances. it's especially painful to get two rejection letters in one day, one from a school you really loved. eh oh well. i know god's got amazing plans for me (and everyone!) no matter which colleges accept me. :] i'm not a fan of posting college acceptances online, but.. i'll try to let ya know when i decide ;) hopefully i hear more good news this week!! please keep me in your prayers! this is the most intense time of my life. seriously.

  • although i aint sharing college news and divulging more about my boy probs, i can most definitely share the music i've been jamming to. i've been listening to new/old music and sleeping at 12 or 1am every night instead of doing homework. so let's make my love for music at least somewhat useful by sharing it with ya'll. just discovered Plan B (british artist) on the radio today and i especially like his song "love goes down." his album is apparently composed of songs that make up a (his?) life story. :] i have so much to say about each and every one of the songs on this playlist, but.. hopefully you just get to listen to them all.

  • now to part ways once again. i'll chat with ya'll later! :) and i'm usually updating my tumblr and twitter so feel free to follow over there.

ps. sorry for the layout issues in this post. i spent an hour trying to fix the spacing and such, but blogger isn't being so friendly right now. it's 1am. signing out.

    skedaddlin'

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I'll be posting again soon! Life is going great, hangin with my broma (brother and ma) ;) and finished all my college apps. Holla! My 2011 resolutions:
    • blog more,
    • procrastinate less (there is a slight irony with those two resolutions),
    • drink milk every day,
    • every day homework first!!!,
    • pray 5 minutes before i sleep,
    • all in all, manage my time better, keep calm and carry on, and always prioritize what's good. (so much for saying "all in all"!)
You can probably tell I'm really loopy right now, so I'll just close here! See you in a few weeks hopefully! In the mean time, I'll be studying for finals and trying to catch up on all my studies! If you ever wanna holla, feel free to comment or even email me! I am always checking those. :) And I will probably update with quick posts of media I'm enjoying (like the following videos) in the mean time so stay tuned for those. :)

    G'bless!

    no me moleste!

warning: i am somewhat loopy right now. i'm not even sure why. i promise it's not drugs. that sounds like a joke. i'm not joking...i'm sober and great. gosh, now i just sound crazy.

anyway, life is so GREAT. so in da last post, life was really not so fabulous since i was drowning in make up work and the hard knock life of an over achieving lad like me. however, i rose above the temptations of procrasination with the help of god and am now back on track! i'm still not doing as great as i wish i was doing in my classes, but i'm all caught up and there's really no greater feeling than that. the past few days i've been feeling terribly - phsyically and mentally. but it's getting better! yay for life!!

so here's an ol' outfit post! once again, the shirt is from when i swapped a few clothes from my friend isabelle! :]

shirt - nordstrom rack (via isabelle)
jeans - store in South Korea

it's not tumblr tuesday, but i just want to share these nevertheless: (oh! it is thursday - well, 20 mins from thursday - so tumblr thursday!) :)

    Over the Hill

For my internship I had to head down to Juanita for a WARM 106.9 event, and afterward, my mom and I found this suh-weet place called Country Village. If you're ever in Washington and by Juanita, check it! :) There's a couple vintage stores, this amazing interior design store - one of the nicest I've seen and not so expensive either! - and etc. :) I realized I wasn't supposed to take this pic, but I already did. I love the details!

So here's some pics from my WARM summer journeys (harhar). ;)

    M-I-C-K-E-Y MICKEY MOUSE

sorry i haven't been updating as frequently! somehow, there's always so many tasks to fulfill and i get bogged down with a lot of stuff. it's all good stuff, but sometimes i dont even know what's going on in my life. D:

but to break it down, i am currently college researching and refining my list of colleges to apply to! it's mucho research but i'm really enjoying it! it's exciting to think that i may be attending one of these schools in a year! :)

nevertheless, it's been rather overwhelming because there's so much i want to do and so much i want to achieve that i just want to stop sometimes. i feel like i won't get into my dream schools and like i'm just so far gone or something... meep. i'd appreciate your wishes and prayers for me to "just keep swimming"!

(my post is going to be generally incoherent because it's late at night, but anyway)

there's something about God that always makes things better. college stuff has really overwhelmed me, but i keep reminding myself that the victory is already won and that god has amazing plans for me (and for you, too obvi). :) as a matter of fact, they're so amazing that i can't even conceive how awesome they are. man, i can't wait to live that dream, and i hope i'm going on that path! that knowledge and my excitement for life just leaves me in blissful speechlessness. :]

so i must remind myself, even when things are rough, everything happens for the best and it's gonna be alright wherever i go. :) thanks God! phew! :)

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'"
    - Jeremiah 29:11-13

anyway, i dont have a fashion-y post todee; i've been in shorts and a tee lately since there's been no school. :P but here's some artistic pieces of inspiration i came across recently :)

    by swedish designer Bea Szenfeld

i love the way these look like oil or gouche - i hope that's how you spell it - paintings! i love the simplicity and everything. :)

mickey mouse club boy from america's funniest homes videos:
you HAVE to see this!!!! I LOVE THIS BOY!! i wish we could all live life like this. M-I-C-K-E-Y MICKEY MOUSE!!

and for more classy cartoon mouse goodness:

    song of the moment -
i have too many songs going in my head right now:
the kooks - naive (on my playlist)
michael jackson - man in the mirror
florence and the machine - cosmic love (the music video is stellar)

have an utterly awesome day!! :) (i told you this would be a sporadic-y post) :P

    it's a THONG

this weekend has been pretty great - except that i've been procrastinating again. :P

before i explain the quote in my post title, i'd like to announce my new hair cut! it's a little shorter than shoulder-length, so it's the shortest my hair's ever been for me (i normally cut it at shoulder-length). :)

after my hair cut, i went to see shrek forever after with a couple o' friends and it was fabulous! i absolutely love shrek and i'm so sad that the series (is that the right term?) is over. oh well, at least it happened right? while shrek 4 didn't have as many witty and hilarious details as the previous movies had, the moving story and trusty ol' characters made up for it - although i don't recall seeing the trannie man and three blind mice! :-O and i have to admit, i cried a lil bit at the end. ;) i won't give the details, just in case you haven't seen it, which you should!

    shrek 4 trailer

so since you are going to see shrek, ;), i'd recommend seeing the previous ones. my favorite is probably the first, second, ok and third one. and then the fourth one. :)

here's one of my favorite scenes from shrek 2:
    Shrek: Quick tell a lie!
    Pinocchio: What should I say?
Donkey: Say something crazy... like you're wearing ladies underwear.
Pinocchio: Um, ok. I'm wearing ladies underwear.
    Pinocchio: [silence]
    Shrek: Are you?
Pinocchio: I most certainly am not.
    Pinocchio: [nose extends] .
Donkey: It looks like you most certainly am are.
    Pinocchio: I am not.
    Pinocchio: [nose extends]
    Puss-in-Boots: What Kind?
    Gingerbread Man: IT'S A THONG!

and my favorite thing about shrek 4 is the fat puss-in-boots and piper guy (i wish i could make people dance as punishment).

and if you're going to be stubborn and not watch shrek, at least watch my favorite shrek video:

    far faraway idol auditions
(it's a home-recording of the video, so the actual video starts at around 0:30)
my favorite contestants: pinocchio, prince charming, trannie man, three blind mice (they're my fav), pirate, and simon. i can watch this video all day and laugh every time. you dont understand how much i love shrek.

but i'm gonna make the most of it

so last night, i was just givin facebook and formspring a last check for any new notifications or new questions to close out my friday night. and on my formspring, i encountered a pleasant surprise! someone simply wrote "CUNT." (you really dont have to read the rest of this, i just want a place to write my heart out, and my blog is that victim.)

i knew i shouldn't feel bad because this is formspring, where anonymous idiots can say stupid stuff. but i felt my body shiver and freeze up in shock. i could hear the idiot whispering cunt as i closed the blinds in my room. that simply combination of words echoed in my ears. i felt like somebody would assassinate me at any moment because i was (and still am) trying to change the world.

does it make you feel good that i feel disgusting and terrible? does it make you feel good that i want to call you an freakin douche?

but i'm glad i didn't, because i actually learned a lot from you lil' four letter remark. although i may think you are a "freakin clit," i also feel sorry for you, because you think that way of me.

i dont know if youre some random kid 5000 miles away who just wanted to vent your anger on another random kid who happened to be me, or if youre someone i see everyday in the halls of my schoool. if it's the latter, then i wish you'd get to know me sometime and realize that i am NOT a CUNT. because i am sure that if you really knew me, i am not like that...

anyway, strangely, your vulgar word has refreshed my outlook and after a few moments, suddenly, i grew so much more thankful for every friend i had, for every person that would listen to me, for every smile and "hey erin!" that i've heard in the halls.

so i want to say thank you to everyone who says hello, who is my friend, who reads my blog and hears me out there. it's really cool to know that someone is listening and i appreciate your comments and words every time i read them. i can't believe i actually have over 40 followers and people that spend time to read what i write and post. you guys rock my sox and i feel like i've made awesome blog friends. i'm really not sure what my life would be like without ya'll. :)

i want to hug every friend for every word of encouragement. hug every blogger for every thoughtul piece of attention you've provided - you really mean so much to me.

and to the idiot who said what you said, thank you too, cuz, i guess, once in a while, i need that. (but that doesn't mean i want to see people start overflowing my formspring with "CUNT") and just so you know, there's somebody out there that loves you, so dont say that cuz i really dont want to call you an "douche" because i'm sure you really aren't one somewhere deep down.

if you just read all this, thanks for that, too. :]

i took my AP US History exam today and i feel so free! now i can sleep, and actually do all my homework and not procrastinate! no, i'll probably still procrastinate, but the after effects will be much less worse. i felt like hugging everyone i saw as soon as i put my pencil down at the end of the test! HALLELUJAH! i can breathe now!

here are some pictures and videos from the week :) (click photos to make larger)

come fly away with me to pah ri

    via
    Lee Jenkins Photography

Here are some photos from my one-day journey to Paris last Spring. :) (click to make them larger)

The cosmopolitan outfit I wore to France

    argyle cardigan - Esprit (Germany)
dress and leggings - market in London
(I didn't bring any other shoes besides converse, so I had to wear those, but they didn't look as bad with the outfit as I thought they would!)

    Notre Dame Cathedral
I think Parisians are somewhat easily fascinated. These two other guys that were in my travel group always hackey sacked on the streets and passerby-er's would "ooo!" and "ahhh!" like they'd never seen people hackey sack before! It was so funny! I wish we would've put a hat out or something; I know they would've gave money to us.

And this lady was just standing in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral and people were so enthralled! I think my friends hackey sacking was much more entertaining than this lady...

    Waitress (lady below).

This was a beef paste sorta thing. It sounds kinda gross, but holy gaucamole, it was phenomal!!! The French know good food.

    An hour at the Louvre:

    Viva la vida!

Napoleon's Coronation was my favorite of all the paintings -that I got to see- in the Louvre. I saw it in my textbook before, but seeing it eye to eye in real life was amazing. The grandeur of ever brush stroke is just genius. I love everything about this painting.

    People pics:

Rockin' the Burberry (I don't think she was French though, judging from her accent when she walked by. Probably Italian?)

The guy on the very left was part of my travel group who always hackey sacked as I mentioned earlier. The rest of the guys asked him to take a picture of them. I wish I had sneaked a photo when they posed together; they were so gorgeous!! xD

This lady was so pretty (and French), I had to snap a shot. She seemed very sad for some reason though...

Until next time Paris!Check out this link and you can see France for yourself from your computer screen.

French Fashion: them Frenchies and their stripes

    Song(s) of the moment -
BB Brunes - Lalalalove You (#2 on my playlist to the right. My French friend introduced me to it)
    &
    The Count's Real Song

This video has cracked me up all week. It's a bit inappropriate, but I almost gaurantee you will laugh... out loud! I've shared it with about 10 of my friends because it was so hilarious. WATCH IT! ;)
