it's a THONG
before i explain the quote in my post title, i'd like to announce my new hair cut! it's a little shorter than shoulder-length, so it's the shortest my hair's ever been for me (i normally cut it at shoulder-length). :)
after my hair cut, i went to see shrek forever after with a couple o' friends and it was fabulous! i absolutely love shrek and i'm so sad that the series (is that the right term?) is over. oh well, at least it happened right? while shrek 4 didn't have as many witty and hilarious details as the previous movies had, the moving story and trusty ol' characters made up for it - although i don't recall seeing the trannie man and three blind mice! :-O and i have to admit, i cried a lil bit at the end. ;) i won't give the details, just in case you haven't seen it, which you should!
shrek 4 trailer
so since you are going to see shrek, ;), i'd recommend seeing the previous ones. my favorite is probably the first, second, ok and third one. and then the fourth one. :)
here's one of my favorite scenes from shrek 2:
Shrek: Quick tell a lie!
Pinocchio: What should I say?
Donkey: Say something crazy... like you're wearing ladies underwear.
Pinocchio: Um, ok. I'm wearing ladies underwear.
Pinocchio: [silence]
Shrek: Are you?
Pinocchio: I most certainly am not.
Pinocchio: [nose extends] .
Donkey: It looks like you most certainly am are.
Pinocchio: I am not.
Pinocchio: [nose extends]
Puss-in-Boots: What Kind?
Gingerbread Man: IT'S A THONG!
and my favorite thing about shrek 4 is the fat puss-in-boots and piper guy (i wish i could make people dance as punishment).
and if you're going to be stubborn and not watch shrek, at least watch my favorite shrek video:
far faraway idol auditions
(it's a home-recording of the video, so the actual video starts at around 0:30)
my favorite contestants: pinocchio, prince charming, trannie man, three blind mice (they're my fav), pirate, and simon. i can watch this video all day and laugh every time. you dont understand how much i love shrek.

on a different note, in english we wrote poems/credos about the meaning of life and i thought i'd share mine with you. i learned after i finished my poem that "life in technicolor" (the title of my poem) is a coldplay song, but i did not intend to copy it at all!!!
(please click, otherwise you probably can't read it....)
lemme know your thoughts! unless you are going to call me a cunt. then i dont want to know your thoughts. :P (i normally dont say that. for further information please go here)
and if you have spare time, this stop motion music video is pretty awesome. i really like the piano accompaniment, and stop motions in general are sweet. :)

out on the town
(click pictures to enlarge! they look much better that way!)
afterwards, we ate at Dick's, which was right across the street! it was my first time eating there and it's SOOO good for such a cheap price! their ice cream is rockin' too. :) ahhhh. i sure love food.
i love their telephone booth listening station thingies. :)
there was a shelf dedicated to the beatles and their album covers were so lovely. :)
but i'm gonna make the most of it
i knew i shouldn't feel bad because this is formspring, where anonymous idiots can say stupid stuff. but i felt my body shiver and freeze up in shock. i could hear the idiot whispering cunt as i closed the blinds in my room. that simply combination of words echoed in my ears. i felt like somebody would assassinate me at any moment because i was (and still am) trying to change the world.
does it make you feel good that i feel disgusting and terrible? does it make you feel good that i want to call you an freakin douche?
but i'm glad i didn't, because i actually learned a lot from you lil' four letter remark. although i may think you are a "freakin clit," i also feel sorry for you, because you think that way of me.
i dont know if youre some random kid 5000 miles away who just wanted to vent your anger on another random kid who happened to be me, or if youre someone i see everyday in the halls of my schoool. if it's the latter, then i wish you'd get to know me sometime and realize that i am NOT a CUNT. because i am sure that if you really knew me, i am not like that...
anyway, strangely, your vulgar word has refreshed my outlook and after a few moments, suddenly, i grew so much more thankful for every friend i had, for every person that would listen to me, for every smile and "hey erin!" that i've heard in the halls.
so i want to say thank you to everyone who says hello, who is my friend, who reads my blog and hears me out there. it's really cool to know that someone is listening and i appreciate your comments and words every time i read them. i can't believe i actually have over 40 followers and people that spend time to read what i write and post. you guys rock my sox and i feel like i've made awesome blog friends. i'm really not sure what my life would be like without ya'll. :)
i want to hug every friend for every word of encouragement. hug every blogger for every thoughtul piece of attention you've provided - you really mean so much to me.
and to the idiot who said what you said, thank you too, cuz, i guess, once in a while, i need that. (but that doesn't mean i want to see people start overflowing my formspring with "CUNT") and just so you know, there's somebody out there that loves you, so dont say that cuz i really dont want to call you an "douche" because i'm sure you really aren't one somewhere deep down.
if you just read all this, thanks for that, too. :]

flowers blooming unda the sea
i love the background of these photos! i know you probably thought she was really underwater, but the background is actually a mural painted by students from years ago since our school is currently an outdoor campus. but since our campus is pretty old school, they're building a new one with a legit theatre, three super high ceiling gyms and mucho mas! i'll miss the murals and artwork! i actually wrote an article for my local newspaper about the construction. i won't upload it here, but i dare you to find it online! :P

as for my day, in english, we were assigned to write a "credo" in the form of a poem (i'll post mine sometime next week :D). so for inspiration, we read Robert Fulghum's All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten and it may just be one of my favorite little writing pieces! & I thought I'd share it with you:
“All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school.
These are the things I learned:
- Share everything.
- Play fair.
- Don’t hit people.
- Put things back where you found them.
- Clean up your own mess.
- Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
- Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
- Wash your hands before you eat.
- Flush.
- Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
- Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
- Take a nap every afternoon.
- When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
- Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
- Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
- And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.”
&here's what i wore today :)
