midnight muse: CB2

somehow i found a 15% off coupon to CB2 in my mailbox and although i dont think i'm actually going to buy anything, i sure am ready for christmas with a fresh wishlist. from searching for a practical shoe rack to just ooh-gling and ahh-gling over awesome things, story of my midnight life drenched with procrastination.

i have been so involved with social media (i mean, i tweet/am the social media 'guru,' as they say, for nbcuniversal interns). i am just in love with this from CB2. it's just all of who i am right now. ALL OF IT.

that's just cute.

that's just also cute. love cool designs, sometimes wish i could just be a graphic design major all my life and days and seconds and brain cells.

because i'm still all about media right now. IT'S AMAZING. TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

CB2 needs to stop selling awesome things.

but for some odd reason i dont think they're going to listen to my plea.

so at this point i'm just dying of desire

it's still midnight and i'm still drowning in beautiful glory

a first love: blogging

soo...it's been exactly one year since my first post on this blog! blogging has been an unexpectedly awesome experience to say the least. 1 year and 139 posts ago, i thought this blog would be a lonely journal with me talking about my life, but i started posting photos of fashion/art that i liked and transferred the inspiration i had seen from other bloggers into my lifestyle. i've learned so many ways to think creatively about my clothes and i realized that my career doesn't have to be just journalism (what i think i'll go into, or communications...), but i can incorporate stuff i love with it too!

the biggest thing i love about blogging is interacting with other awesome bloggers. to this day, i penpal with a few bloggers whom i discovered through...blogging! i'm not quite sure what life would be like without them. and knowing that people spend the time to take even 5 seconds to visit my blog is just awesome. it's really crazy to think that...someone cares about what i think! sure, lots of bloggers probably just skim my post, comment with something trite and expect me to follow them back; i gotta admit, i've done that a few times myself, but when i remember why i started blogging, i remember that i blog for the sake of blogging-which has been my first love.

i say that because recently i found this awesome website about "first loves." it was created by some of northwestern's (love that school!) interactive design students and i was definitely inspired by it. totally recommend it to anyone! some stories are LOL-inducing and others are tear-stimulating (they're not just like "first loves" as in people, i promise. that would be too sappy, although i'd probably read that too). my favorites are john travolta, spaghetti, "she drives me crazy," and erin (not because it's my name or me, haha. this one was actually a serious one).

from ourfirstloves.com

but back to being sappy about the blogiversary...thank you so much for making my first year of blogging really awesome. i think i have some readers who read my blog but have never told me so do holla, comment, email, whatever! (except please don't stalk me)

i also added a poll to the side of my blog to get your feedback about my blog! please do let me know: what you like about my blog, what you don't (constructive criticism is always appreciated) and what you'd like to see (new and old)! :):) i really want to change up my blog layout to something sleek, cool and simple, so if you have advice for that, please give a shout for that as well!

OH YEAH. BIG NEWS. 1ST SEMESTER OF MY SENIOR YEAR IS OVER. that means i have more of an excuse for senioritis to kick in; i.e. more time to...blog! i'm super super stoked and looking forward to interacting with more bloggers, hopefully start featuring other bloggers, but most of all, bringing back CLASS OF FASHION. and once i go to college, i'm hoping to do my own giveaways! i've wanted to since months ago, but couldn't because my parents don't really get blogging and yadda.

SO YES. Life is fabu at the moment. and i really hope it is for you as well.

let's just say, before today i have been feeling a lil like this:

All I Can Say

I'm back in the United States and I miss Korea beyond words but it's quite nice to be back home. After visiting my etnic home of yucky cigarette smoke and filthy air, it was so so so refreshing to breathe Washington air again. Man, as I quote my mom "Washington's air is the air of heaven." Really.

And before I move on to my outfit post (I can't wait to show you pics!), I'm going to be sappy and type up my last journal about my pops and how he lives in Korea (it was written while I was still there):

I keep thinking about the next time I'll see you. Another year? That's even doubtful. Another year of nights playing Boggle with just mom as two empty seats - your's and bro's - stare at me. Another year of watching mom making decisions by herself. Weekends of 30 minute telephone calls with you will be the closest I get to you - unless you awkwardly learn how to Skype and do webcam chats. Another year of being without you, and it might even be longer than that.

Then I'll be off to college, I'll be busy, cuz life moves on. So four years of my best years, without you. Even if I want to see you, I'll be busy. And even if you want to see me, you can't because that's where you've made it, and that's where you'll be. Even if I were to get married, you won't be here. Even if something were to happen, you can't make it. I'll always have to go to you instead of you visiting me. Can't be you come here to stay? No. That's the way it is. You won't be here. There's just something missing. Always.

I keep thinking about if you'll be ok. I heard you have high cholesterol and you're body weight and fat percentage isn't so great - I'm not surprised. Will you be alright even if I'm not there to snatch that bag of crackers from you - as I sneak a piece for myself? All I can do is pray and look at the moon - the same moon you see at night - and hope for the best. I already miss you. My hand gets numb as tears start forming. My body feels weak and vulnerable even though you're just a few feet away as I write this, playing BaDook on the laptop.

I'll miss how you unconsciously smile as you watch your favorite Korean dramas about competitive bakery stores and Korean mafia men.
I'll miss late night cucumber massages. I'll miss eating out and you telling me to "take your time to eat everything" even though I always take over an hour to eat every crumb anyway. There's so much I'll miss. Although I entrust my worries to God, one thing is for sure - I'll miss you. I already do.

This is a mini ramble that kinda goes with the above:

Home.
Where are you?
New Jersey - my birthplace?
Korea - my ancestral place?
And definitely not Seattle...actually...

Home. I can't decide.
But home isn't a place I choose, right?

Home. I'd like one. A place where I'll stay put.

Home. Where is my heart?
It's at home, I know,
but I don't know where you are.

& noww...
I took these pics in Korea at a park-y place by my dad's apartment. :) I walked back and forth from my camera many a times for these photos.

I like this one :) It looks like I ran very far to take this photo:

Got excited with editing:

I tried to stand real tall because I thought I was too low for the camera...but I guess not.

I am quite magical:

Nom nom nom

I don't want to think about how many days it'll be til I find myself on the plane back to the U.S., but facing reality, I leave in two days and I miss Korea already. I wish I didn't have so many worries, so many tasks to do, but I have to remind myself that it's all for good stuff. I wrote in my journal some sappy words of how I'll miss Korea, but I'll save that for the next post. :]

I haven't been going out places as much because I did surgery and I'm not supposed to walk around a lot, but before the surgery, I met up with my bestest chum Jane. :)

This is when we were trying to catch a cab.
Yes, she is a strange blob.

Look at that hot bod. Sorry I'm embarassing you Jane.

Isn't her necklace so pretty? :]

Off to lunch to eat some Korean porridge (the word porridge sounds so not delicious, but it is so delicious, at least I think so).

I ate Beef and Mushroom rice porridge. :] (Jane had Tuna I think)

And then her shoe broke and we did some intense flip flop surgery. Her sandal wasn't under any anesthesia, so I'm sure it was very painful for it.

She knows how to rock the bling.

The next two pics are my favorite of youz. ;)
(Dress - Forever21)

I miss ya everyday Jane and I'll never forget ya.

On the subway ride home, 5 people in a row wore some shade of pink - from super hot to tickle me pink and I couldn't resist (but I had to blur their face out):

And on the way home, I took lots of outfit pics and ran back and forth setting my camera timer, etc. But I'll save those pics for the next post! (which may be when I'm back in the US, but oh well!)

Here's some good vids that should make your day if these pictures haven't already. :)

When you just want a good laugh (or want to see cute hamsters nibbling on food or want to hear quirky om nom nom music)

When you want a sweet song to dance to or if you just wanna watch pretty ladies dance, this is your song.

And one last media mumble: Alex Turner is so cyoot (lead singer of Arctic Monkeys). Watching someone make music - especially if it's music I like - is such a turn on. *swoon* (Although I have no idea what's up with the crocodile head)

A Little Bit of Home

Sorry for the delay in updating! Korea always keeps you busy in random ways. I'm actually taking acne treatment while I'm here since it's so much cheaper and more professional than the places where I live! So I feel very pampered and fresh. :) But here are some snippets of the past few days. :)

In Korea, cats sell cell phones! (not really)

And these paintings were on the wall of a delicious Korean restaurant!

"Let me help you with that ma'am."

"And let me help you with that, too..."

"And I'll leave him to you."

That's my dad swiping a piece of heaven in front of the camera lense.

There he goes again - his chopsticks moved real fast so you can barely see them.
The Bacon is called "Sahm gyup sal" in Korean. :) It was truly delectable - I think that means tasty? And I'm sorry if you're a vegetarian! Please do not be disgusted by me! I can't help myself!

This is fresh off the grill (FOG?-asian inside joke, now you'll just think I'm crazy if you don't get the pun D:) garlic and a spicy-ish bean sauce (called "Dwehn Jang" or "Ssam Jang")? I have no clue how to describe it, but you just needa know that it's gooood. It tastes especially great with Korean BBQ and/or lettuce. :)

This one's just for fun. (This one is not edible...)

Song of the moment -
Baby I'm Yours - Arctic Monkeys (it's so sappy I love it!)
Lucky - Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Caillat

PS. I turned on auto-play but I really hope it doesn't scare. Please please do let me know if it bugs you! (I think it might be funny because the song starts "do you hear me? i'm talkin' to you." hehehe).
