skedaddlin'

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I'll be posting again soon! Life is going great, hangin with my broma (brother and ma) ;) and finished all my college apps. Holla! My 2011 resolutions:
  • blog more,
  • procrastinate less (there is a slight irony with those two resolutions),
  • drink milk every day,
  • every day homework first!!!,
  • pray 5 minutes before i sleep,
  • all in all, manage my time better, keep calm and carry on, and always prioritize what's good. (so much for saying "all in all"!)
You can probably tell I'm really loopy right now, so I'll just close here! See you in a few weeks hopefully! In the mean time, I'll be studying for finals and trying to catch up on all my studies! If you ever wanna holla, feel free to comment or even email me! I am always checking those. :) And I will probably update with quick posts of media I'm enjoying (like the following videos) in the mean time so stay tuned for those. :)

I don't want to think about how many days it'll be til I find myself on the plane back to the U.S., but facing reality, I leave in two days and I miss Korea already. I wish I didn't have so many worries, so many tasks to do, but I have to remind myself that it's all for good stuff. I wrote in my journal some sappy words of how I'll miss Korea, but I'll save that for the next post. :]

I haven't been going out places as much because I did surgery and I'm not supposed to walk around a lot, but before the surgery, I met up with my bestest chum Jane. :)

This is when we were trying to catch a cab.
Yes, she is a strange blob.

Look at that hot bod. Sorry I'm embarassing you Jane.

Isn't her necklace so pretty? :]

Off to lunch to eat some Korean porridge (the word porridge sounds so not delicious, but it is so delicious, at least I think so).

I ate Beef and Mushroom rice porridge. :] (Jane had Tuna I think)

And then her shoe broke and we did some intense flip flop surgery. Her sandal wasn't under any anesthesia, so I'm sure it was very painful for it.

She knows how to rock the bling.

The next two pics are my favorite of youz. ;)
(Dress - Forever21)

I miss ya everyday Jane and I'll never forget ya.

On the subway ride home, 5 people in a row wore some shade of pink - from super hot to tickle me pink and I couldn't resist (but I had to blur their face out):

And on the way home, I took lots of outfit pics and ran back and forth setting my camera timer, etc. But I'll save those pics for the next post! (which may be when I'm back in the US, but oh well!)

Here's some good vids that should make your day if these pictures haven't already. :)

When you just want a good laugh (or want to see cute hamsters nibbling on food or want to hear quirky om nom nom music)

When you want a sweet song to dance to or if you just wanna watch pretty ladies dance, this is your song.

And one last media mumble: Alex Turner is so cyoot (lead singer of Arctic Monkeys). Watching someone make music - especially if it's music I like - is such a turn on. *swoon* (Although I have no idea what's up with the crocodile head)

I say Hello :)

So I changed up my blog pretty drastically layout-wise. Do you approve of the bright orange? xD Lemme know if you liked the old layout better! I just wanted a new, more organized format, so here it is! I also designed some icons which aren't as new, but I like to think so! :) What do you think? :)

On the right side bar, there's three icons and if you click each one, corresponding posts with the label "outfits," "travels", "Class of Fashion" (respectively) will appear! :) Hopefully these will be of use for you!

For those who are not acquainted with CofF, Class of Fashion is a high school fashion project where I take photos of fashionable outfits I spot at my high school! The Sartorialist and other street fashion bloggers inspired me to appreciate daily fashion and who says teens don't have good fashion sense? :)

I'm sooooper (I know that's spelled wrong) excited to be heading to South Korea in just a few days - 10 to be exact! And I guarantee there'll be lots of pics and news about my travels there. :) I might even get the guts to take street fashion pics!

This is a minor, but I realized important, change: I "de-set" my playlist on autoplay so now when you visit my website, you won't be deafened by unexpected music. I hope that hasn't happened to you before, but no worries - now it won't! :)

As for personal news, yesterday my friend and I hosted our suh-weet mini recital! Unfortunately I don't have enough time to post pictures, but here's a preview of my day!

It's a video of Jamie and me performing Rondo-Finale by Hadyn Popp (lovin' the last name).(Another video of me! I always think it's exciting to see videos of fellow bloggers - by the way, I am the one playing piano.) :) Do you lykee? :D (Bonus: If you listen carefully, you can also hear my friend's "whale call" during the applause).

song of the moment -
See the World - The Kooks ( I love the intro with the drums going Ba da Bing - if y'know what I mean! )

yo no soy el marinero

I feel like my life has been made up of a lot of water, boats, and ... sailor-y stuff - riding a boat with my friend in... 7ish years, watching fireworks above a lake, eating dinner by Puget Sound, and buying seashell jewelry! but "yo no soy el marinero! soy el capitan!" ;D

So here we go!

Last week, Banana Republic had a huge sale and I was lucky enough to buy this snazzy seashell necklace! It wasn't quite cheap - $22 - but I think it was well worth the dough. :)

(click to see the details up close)

This weekend, I also went to downtown Seattle and ate dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory for my friend's Graduation Party. Boy, it was delicioso! I took some pics on the Piers of Seattle. :)

once again, these images look off the heezay when close up!

And here are some snapshots of my Independence Day journey! I wish I could post the pictures of children smearing their face in Marionberry Pie, adults snatching with their teeth at real dollah bill$ digging their way in a kiddie pool (without water of course!), and many more Kodak moments, but I may be violating their privacy rights or something. So, I shall leave those visuals to your imagination! For now, here's what I got:

I had never seen fireworks so close before. Every pop and cackle was enthralling. I loved how each fraction of a second, you could expect something new - rockets of stars in different colors, shapes and even textures! I felt like I could just touch the lights as they popped into the sky before my eyes - it was like a real 3D movie!

Most of all, I loved the reflection of the lights on the Washington water. You could look at the water's ridges and experience another dazzling show.

Fireworks - you put me in awe. :)

I recorded a clip of some of the gorgeous fireworks I saw last Saturday for ya'll!
(Sorry it's sideways! I don't know how to rotate videos...)

You'll find interesting people in Washington - all of America actually! :)

I love their July 4th spirit! I wish I had gear like that to express my American pride!

I also met this wonderful Japanese college exchange student who's also interning at WARM! I just love meeting new people - especially when they're nice and friendly! We got along quite swell! :)

And at church, I was lucky enough to see a performance by Texan singer, Coffey Anderson! This video won't do justice, but man, his beautiful voice is just mesmerizing! His album is coming out in September, so be on the look out - I will be! :)

song of the moment
The Kooks - Jackie Big Tits (the song title is quirky, but the "you only go around, round, round" part is very relevant to my life at the moment)
&
song of the... old moment?
Brooks & Dunn - Only in America
(I forgot to mention this was my song of the day for July 4th yesterday, but better late than never! Pride for America shouldn't be restricted to a single day right?)

Dream as big as you want to...

2204355: SURPRISE

Things you should do today:
  • Google 2204355 and click "I'm Feeling Lucky." It will blow your mind in the strangest way. That pretty much made my day!
  • Watch this quick stop motion:

FLUFFY MC CLOUD from conorfinnegan on Vimeo.

Now there's a reason why you shouldn't get mad at the rain! :)
  • And if you like breath-taking underwater images, this video is for you: (my favorite parts: 2:20-2:35, 2:47-2:50, 2:55)

Socorro Solmar V from Darek Sepiolo on Vimeo.

Let me know what you think of the clips and the link. ;D ;D

It's been a while since I've done an outfit post because lately I've been lounging in my PJ's all day - that's summer for me! :D My first day interning was this past Monday! I'm not sure if I got to meet Delilah, because her name was not Delilah when I met her - if it was her. So....yeahhh, but I did meet a lot of the other crew and they are such friendly people! They really are different from normal people - personality and outgoing-ness wise - if y'know what I mean. They were willing to talk about almost anything at anytime, and everyone had a smile on their face when I was introduced to them. :)

Last week, I hung out at my friend Jamie's house (she's got the prettiest backyard facing a gorgeous lake!). We practiced for our upcoming "mini-recital" which is going to consist of Mendelssohn's On Wings of Song - totally recommend it! it's beautiful, and Rondo-Finale by Joseph Haydn (I think...) Jamie is the flutist and I am the pianist! I'm so excited! There's nothing like playing music with a friend. There is also going to be much cheese and intertubing! (Don't worry - not together, that would not be so... tasteful).

Anyway, here's what I wore that day! :)

because every girl likes to dress up :)

remember this gal - anna - from a post a while back?...

well, i got to see her recently in a longgg time (i think it's been... 2 years?! oh wow.. that's longer than i thought :-O). and the simple dress she wore totally reminded me of miu miu's fall/winter 2010 collection! maybe it's the cut, the bright colors and the jewel details, but anywho, you are too cute anna - too cute.

the bursts of color embellished with meticulous details on a simple frock are just rockin. i really like the bold, retro style of the flowers and dress design mixed with that tech-y silver color - an innovative yet feminine combination!

here's a behind the scenes-ish video of W magazine's photoshoot for miu miu:

and now some news for ya'll. :)

A few weeks ago, a fellow blogger friend invited me to join Sway.com and I was like 'I ain't makin' no random accounts,' but this one is something I really like and it's totally relevant to people who like dresses and or who enjoy getting their voice heard in the fashion industry.

Sway lets normal girls be the fashion buyers and designers: when you make an account, you get to vote for looks that you like and critique them. Then, the look with the most votes will be produced to go on sale and be sold to members for 24-hours at a discounted price. After the "flash sale," the items will be sold at full retail price for non-members.

You can check out this behind the scenes video of their photoshoot. Nice cinematography eh? (I don't know the 'correct' term, but what I mean is the video scenes, angle, etc.) :)

Sway is launching in the Fall, so sign up soon! :) And if you'd like to join, you can become a member via my personal invite. And invite your friends as well! A nice incentive: if any of your friends buy a dress, then you get one free, too. :)

Wow, that was a longgg post! Eek! I hope you have a great friday!
